Monkey Bread
INGREDIENTS:
2 cakes yeast, dissolved in 1 c. warm water
2/3 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco, melted
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. salt
6 c. flour
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add sugar, shortening, eggs, and salt to yeast water. Work flour in, one cup at a time. This will be very stiff. Work in 1 cup boiling water, a small amount at a time. You will probably have to use your hands. Let rise until doubled. Knead well on floured board and roll thin, a small amount at a time. Cut into rectangular strips, 2 or 3 inches. Dip into butter (melted); layer into tube or loaf pan. Let rise again until doubled in size. Bake until brown.
