Cheesy French Bread


1 loaf of French bread
1/2 stick of butter
1 minced medium onion
2 tbsp. poppy seeds
1/2 lb. sliced Swiss cheese or Cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. garlic salt


Cut French bread into thick slices but don’t cut all the way through. Insert slice of cheese between each slice. Melt butter, add onion, poppy seeds and garlic salt. Wrap loaf loosely in foil leaving opening at the top. Pour butter over top. Wrap tightly. Heat 20 to 25 minutes in 350 degree oven or until cheese is melted. Serve hot.
