Cranberry Orange Nut Bread


2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. orange peel
2 c. cranberries
1 1/2 c. walnuts


Combine dry ingredients; cut in shortening; combine liquid ingredients and add to the mix; coarsely chop cranberries and walnuts. Blend into mix. Bake in greased and floured bread pans until done at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Makes 3-4 small loaves.
