Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 c. sour cream
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. nuts
3/4 c. raisins

DIRECTIONS:

Cream sugar, butter and egg. Add mashed bananas and sour milk; mix until well blended. Add flour, soda and salt, mixed together. Blend in well. Add nuts and raisins. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serve warm with cream cheese.

Cranberry Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS:

1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. mashed bananas
1 c. drained, fresh cranberries, cooked
1/2 c. walnuts

DIRECTIONS:

Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together, add nuts to flour. Add flour mixture alternately with mashed bananas to creamed mixture. Fold in cranberries. Pour into greased loaf pan (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Cool before slicing.
