Irish Brown Bread

INGREDIENTS:
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
DIRECTIONS:
Cook almost until boil, about 3 minutes. Put in whole box raisins. Simmer 5 minutes until raisins are soft. Add 1 stick butter. Let cool.
Add: 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg Dash of cloves Dash of cream of tartar
Bake 350 degrees 1 hour in 9×11 greased pan.
