Carrot Poppy Seed Bread (Bread Machine) Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 pound loaf/ 1 pound loaf
3/4 cup/ 1/2 cup milk
1 cup/ 2/3 cup finely shredded carrots
1 Tbsp./ 1 Tbsp. butter (Soft)
1 tsp./ 3/4 tsp. salt
2 cups/ 1 1/3 cups Whole wheat flour
1 cup/ 2/3 cup white flour
1 Tbsp./ 2 tsp. packed brown sugar
2 tsp./ 1 1/2 tsp. bread machine yeast
1 1/2tsp./ 1 tsp. poppy seed

DIRECTIONS:

Carefully measure all ingredients and place in the pan in the order given by the manufacturer and adding carrots with the milk. Select basic/white cycle. Use medium crust color. DO NOT USE DELAY CYCLES.

Check dough after about 5 minutes of mixing: it should form a soft, smooth ball around the blade. If dough is too dry or stiff, add liquid, 1 tsp. at a time until dough is right consistency. If dough is too soft, add flour 1 tsp. at a time. This recipe is from the files of NormaSue
