Southern Spoon Bread

INGREDIENTS:

Pour 1 cup boiling water over 1/2 cup corn meal and let stand about 10 minutes (until lukewarm). Beat 2 eggs well, and stir into meal mixture.
Stir together:
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
Dash of salt

Add to above mixture:

1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. soft butter

DIRECTIONS:

Pour in greased casserole bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
Spoon bread is good served with dry beans, macaroni or any regular meal. It can also be served with syrup and butter.
