Rena Moore’s Cheese Bread

INGREDIENTS:

8 to 10 oz. Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 to 3/4 Hellmann’s mayonnaise
1 can green chiles
French or sour dough bread
Garlic butter

DIRECTIONS:

Wash chiles and remove seeds.
Grate cheese, add mayonnaise and chiles; stir. (If you like it a little hot, buy the chopped green chiles and use the entire can, seeds and all).

Spread cheese mixture on two halves of French bread or sour dough bread, sliced lengthwise and buttered with garlic butter. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. The cheese should be browned.

Use smaller sour dough rolls when serving them with meals. It goes well with Italian food, steak, and seafood, or as an hors d’oeuvres.
