Irish Brown Bread

INGREDIENTS:

 4 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 2/3 c. crushed whole bran cereal
2 1/2 c. buttermilk

DIRECTIONS:

Sift together flour, baking soda, sugar and salt. Add cereal to flour mixture, mix well. Add buttermilk and mix until all dry ingredients are moistened. Flour hands and press dough into greased 9×5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
