Greenbrier Bread Pudding

INGREDIENTS:

5 slices white bread
1/2 c. butter, melted
6 eggs
1 qt. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins (opt.)

DIRECTIONS:

Cut bread slices into 1″ squares and toast in hot oven. Place in bottom of 3 quart casserole dish and drizzle with melted butter. Combine remaining ingredients and beat well. Pour over bread.

Bake at 350 degrees until custard is firm or when knife inserted comes out clean, approximately 45 minutes. Serve topped with Deluxe Vanilla Sauce. Use 1/2 cup sauce per serving. Serves 8 to 10.
