1 pkg. dry yeast
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 c. warm water
3 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cooking oil
4 - 4 1/2 c. flour
1 lg. can evaporated milk
Melted butter
DIRECTIONS:
Dissolve yeast in water. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and salt. Let stand until bubbly. Stir in remaining sugar, milk, and oil. Add flour until dough is heavy but too sticky to knead. Place in well greased 2 pound coffee can. Grease inside of plastic lid and place on can. Let stand until lid pops off in warm place, about one hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake one hour in coffee can without lid. Brush rounded top with melted butter after removing from oven. Let cool in can, 20-30 minutes, and remove from can.
