INGREDIENTS:
1 qt. toasted bread crumbs
1/2 c. raisins, washed
2 c. milk, scalded
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
LEMON SAUCE:
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. lemon rind
DIRECTIONS:
Pudding: combine bread, add milk to beaten eggs. Combine sugar and spices. Add to milk mixture. Add vanilla. Place bread and raisins in greased pan or baking dish. Pour egg and milk mixture over bread. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serves 6 to 8.
Sauce: Combine ingredients. Bring to boil. Let boil 2 to 3 minutes. Use over bread pudding.
